NetManage Teams with PSI to Provide
Software for Internet Access Over Cable TV
Boston, Mass. - March 8, 1994 -- Today, at the Museum of Science,
Performance Systems International, Inc. (PSI) announced PCICable(SM) Internet
access through cable TV (CATV), and NetManage, Inc. of Cupertino, CA
demonstrated its Internet Chameleon software for Cable -- a suite
of Windows communications applications for connecting to the Internet
via the PSICable services. PSI also announced that it will be
reselling this cable version of Internet Chameleon to subscribers of
this newest on-ramp to the information superhighway.
NetManage's new Internet Chameleon for Cable product offers an
easy-to-use and feature-rich Microsoft Windows front-end for
individual users of PSICable services, reported today as being
initially available on the Metropolitan Area Network in
Cambridge, MA.
"Internet Chameleon for Cable provides a powerful, yet simple,
interface to millions of new household users of the Internet who
will come on-line via the PSICable services offered by PSI with
its cable operator partners," explained Martin Schoffstall, PSI's
vice president and chief technical officer. "We are pleased to
be partnering with NetManage, the pioneer in developing Windows
applications software for TCP/IP connectivity and Internet access."

This software is an essential step in providing practical

administration, especially Vice President Albert Gore, Jr.
The combination of Internet Chameleon and CATV access to the
Internet is an uncomplicated way to attach millions of home
computers to the current and emerging national information
highway.

Included in Internet Chameleon for Cable are a dozen applications,
notably: Electronic Mail, FTP File Transfer, Telnet terminal
emulation, a Gopher client for accessing the 3,600 public Gopher
information servers, an Internet News Reader, and navigation
utilities such as WhoIs, Finger and Ping. Also included is
NetManage's TCP/IP communications stack called NEWT (NetManage
Windows Enhanced TCP/IP).TCP/IP is the most widely used networking
protocol in the world, and also the protocol of the Internet, for
which it was originally developed.
